May 28, 2025—Cy-Fair High School senior Ashley Johnson received the University Interscholastic League (UIL) HEB Athletic Scholarship on May 14. Johnson is one of five student athletes in Texas to be awarded with the scholarship.

HEB, in partnership with UIL, awards 15 high school seniors each year who participate in UIL competitions with a $2,000 scholarship to their university of choice. Five students who compete in athletics, five students who compete in music and five students who compete in academic events are selected from across the state as winners of the scholarship.

“I’m so excited, it’s definitely such an honor and such a blessing to receive this scholarship,” Johnson said. “I’m ready to go to college and use this scholarship to help me achieve great things.”

Johnson was also recognized in April on Fox 26 Houston’s Making The Grade for her athletic and academic accomplishments.
